This is actually a fantastic location – you can avoid the hordes of revellers, and the Vatican is easy to reach, while the river is just at the end of the road.  A quieter option in a lovely location, this home is perfect if you're looking for an authentic stay – with all the big attractions within a half-hour walk.  

The double-height ceiling and the large windows make this place bright and breezy, which is surprisingly rare for this neighbourhood as the narrow streets and old buildings often conspire to keep sunlight away. There's a sense of history, with beamed ceilings, and a modern twist thanks to the mezzanine bedroom floor and the floating stairs. A comfy sofa takes the prime position in the open-plan living space, with a handy desk area and a contemporary kitchen tucked away under the mezzanine.

The location of this apartment is great. It’s just a short walk from the Castel Sant'Angelo and Piazza Cavour, home to Italy’s Supreme Court. You can also visit the Vatican, including the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's Basilica, which are also within walking distance. There’s a range of eateries in the locale, too, for when you want a rest from sightseeing. The bright open-plan living space back at this apartment also sleeps guests five and six on a comfy sofa bed. The main bedroom has an en-suite, while bedroom two has a small double bed. Your hosts are really helpful here as well – they can arrange a variety of services for you to make your stay in Rome super special.

We like being in the thick of things on a city break, so this Roman home immediately caught our eye. It’s just a few minutes from the iconic Trevi Fountain, and a short walk from the Pantheon and the Roman Forum – it’s not difficult to see the sights of Rome from this base. When you’re not out and about, you’ll surely love having such an elegant space to call home. There’s plenty of space, whether you spend your downtime cooking in the kitchen or lounging under the skylight surrounded by antiques.

It's worth noting that despite being spacious, this home's sleeping arrangements feature a double sofa bed and another room with two single sofa beds that might be more suitable for children. With two other double beds available, however, it's the ideal pad for a family getaway.

From floors to ceilings, this apartment in central Rome maintains a sense of originality in its decor and finishes. It blends in with its historic surrounding – the bustling Piazza del Popolo with its pavement cafés and pop-up book markets is a three-minute walk, as is the beautiful Villa Borghese. If shopping is your thing, the Spanish Steps and Via del Corso are five minutes on foot. Large families or groups of friends will find this apartment to be an excellent home base. As soon as you step into the marble-floored hall you get a feeling of old-world Italy. The hall is dotted with antiques and moving through to the living and dining room it’s all floor to ceiling bookcases and herringbone floor. We particularly love the main bathroom, sleek in monotone black and white, yet embracing the vintage with its Singer sewing machine washstand and glorious oval tub.

Situated a two-minute walk from Campo de' Fiori, one of Rome’s main piazzas, this apartment is ideal for first-time and frequent travellers alike. The city’s best bits are within walking distance – the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain and Roman Forum are around thirty minutes away. While some elements of this home are a little dated, everything functions well, and the place is clean and comfortable. Just a heads up, the street below can get noisy at times, so we recommend packing earplugs if you’re easily awoken.

Spend an afternoon wandering Rome's cobbled streets before enjoying an aperitif at one of the trendy bars in this neighbourhood. When you've had your fun for the day, retreat home to this bright and roomy apartment. Inside, it's uncluttered and minimal, which only enhances the relaxing atmosphere. Our favourite spot is the long balcony, which is shaded from the Italian sun by a leafy trellis. And if you’re impressed with the view now, wait until dusk when the cupolas of the city’s churches light up. It’s the perfect spot for aperitifs – and the well-stocked honesty bar will come in handy for those.

Keep on top of fitness with the indoor spin bike, then reward yourself with a hydro-massage bath. And for those combining work and play in the city, a dedicated desk space with views of the sunny shared courtyard downstairs should do nicely. 

When it’s time to set off exploring, take your pick from the must-see sights surrounding the elegant Campo Marzio district. The Pantheon, Spanish Steps, and the Trevi Fountain are all less than a ten-minute walk – or a smidge longer with pitstops for pizza al taglio and gelato along the way.

The latter is handy as this home’s kitchen, whilst modern, has no oven (though there’s a hob and microwave). Another thing to note is that at full occupancy, two guests will be sleeping on a sofa bed in the open-plan living room. This place is perfect for couples, small families, business professionals or anyone seeking an exclusive location in Rome.
