Flooded with natural light, and superbly located on buzzy Basel Street, this two bedroom apartment is a delight. The second bedroom is extremely small, but we're willing to overlook this point, as it is an otherwise terrific home. It has a wonderfully bright, contemporary feel and we love the industrial chic feel and the fun touches throughout, like the pair of rocking horses and swing seat in the living area. The master bedroom is lovely and opens up onto a cute terrace too.

Home truths
Bedroom two (the downstairs one) is extremely small (no bedside tables or reading lights) and the bed isn't the highest quality
There's no proper dining table – just the high breakfast bar
The home is arranged across two levels so there are some stairs that might be precarious for some guests
Both bathrooms are a little tired-looking – the grouting, in particular, could do with some love

About Old North
Spanning from Arzolorov Street to Park Hayarkon, the Old North is a well-kept neighbourhood full of classy sea-facing bistros serving Mediterranean delicacies as well as chic cafés and mainstream shopping streets. Its most famous street is Dizengoff Street. Even though many of the shops are high-end, the restaurants and bars are affordable, and many Tel-Avivians come here to enjoy a drink in some of the stylish cocktail bars that are dotted along the street and its offshoots.
