Brimming with natural light, The Blooming Orchids is a charming home that exudes a feminine feel. Yes, it’s small, but it’s well laid out, especially when it comes to the slightly raised bedroom that attracts a lot of light. We also love the muted colour palette with lots of dusty and light pink tones – it stands in beautiful contrast to the decorative tiles in the bathroom and kitchen. You’re right on Nachalat Binyamin, so you won’t have to venture too far to experience that special Tel Aviv atmosphere.

Home truths
The kitchen is very small and not at all well-equipped for cooking up a storm
There’s no dishwasher – time to roll up your sleeves
There’s no in-person check-in - don’t expect a local tour guide upon arrival
Guests 3 and 4 would be on a sofa bed in the living room
When we visited, the wifi wasn’t as fast as we would like it to be
The design is a bit simple – the walls could do with some artworks
The host isn’t a big nighttime reader – there are no bedside tables or reading lights
It is right on Nachalat Binyamin – it could get noisy, especially on Tuesdays and Fridays when the market is on

Local guide
About Kerem Hateimanim
Nestled in between the Carmel Market and the beach, you'll find Kerem Hateimanim, a small neighbourhood founded by Yemeni immigrants in the 1930s. It’s come a long way since then, and today it’s been taken over by bohemian Tel-Avivians looking for affordable housing. Even though Kerem Hateimanim is in the process of being gentrified, the neighbourhood hasn’t lost the authentic, village-like feel that’s beloved by many. There are still plenty of the original Yemenite restaurants around, which are worth a visit, even if you don’t end up staying in this part of the city.
