Do you have a question about this home or the local area?
With a fabulous location in the heart of the theatre district, this home will appeal to culture vultures. It's situated just behind Teatro Nuevo Apolo. Art lovers, on the other hand, can head to "the walk of art" (just over ten minutes on foot), where you'll find the Museo del Prado, Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, and Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum. Madrid's most famous and central square, Puerta del Sol, is nine minutes on foot. The Casa de Correos here houses the regional government of the Comunidad de Madrid. There are several statues, too – the most notable is the statue of a bear looking for fruit on a madroño (strawberry tree) – the city's official symbol. Housed in a building dating back to 1876, this elegant, newly refurbished apartment is the perfect Madrid bolthole. Inside, Sol has carefully chosen furnishings that add a bit of character. We love the vintage bureau and drinks cabinet, as well as the ornate headboard and planted baskets. Open the French doors to the pretty balcony and take a seat on the comfy sofa. Your lovely host provides a breakfast hamper of coffee, tea, herb infusions, chocolate, milk and pastries too. She really has thought of everything to make your stay here special.

About Lavapiés
Like many neighbourhoods on the rise, Lavapiés proudly displays its rough edges. The Times Magazine has recently included it in the 50 best neighbourhoods to live in the world, and it’s not hard to understand its appeal. It’s a melting pot of cultures, bravely experimenting with international influences. Lavapiés is full of contrast — some streets have already embraced a more luxurious vibe with chic boutiques and fusion restaurants popping up every month, while others are still filled with artistic squats and street vendors. It’s the ultimate antidote to boredom.

Host
This home is managed by Sol
This home is managed directly by a business. A member of their staff will be your point of contact before and during your stay. Sol started hosting a few years ago as a hobby, and liked it so much that she quickly turned it into a full-time job.
