Do you have a question about this home or the local area?

Trastevere is famous for its narrow, atmospheric streets, and Turpentine fits in well. It’s not huge, but the split over two levels means that it doesn’t feel cramped. Admittedly, the upstairs isn’t good for much apart from sleeping, but it doesn’t need to be. Likewise, the balcony is too small to be on, but its presence is much appreciated, both for the natural light it brings in, and the views of the neighbouring buildings, which make you feel like you’ve travelled seventy years back in time.

Home truths

There are quite a few stairs to get from the street to the flat, as well as the spiral staircase inside

The bathroom is definitely on the small side

Some of the nearby houses are very close, particularly the ones you can see from the balcony

An extra person can sleep on the sofa bed downstairs, but it's sometimes a bit of a struggle to open it

While there is heating, the host's policy is that it is optional and you will be charged if you decide you need it

Today the area is home to an eclectic variety of characters, ranging from longstanding Roman families and foreign students to pasta obsessives in search of the perfect cacio e pepe.
