Chimney Stacks is right on Corso Garibaldi – a semi-pedestrianised street that’s one of the liveliest in the city. It’s a great place to be if you want to be in the midst of locals enjoying their aperitivo (though of course, the bustling atmosphere won’t be for everyone). The flat is rather small, but it’s functional, and we really liked the printed wallpaper, which appears in both the bedroom and the kitchen.

Home truths
When we visited, we weren't able to test the speed of the wi-fi
There aren't any sofas, or even soft chairs, in the flat
The bathroom is very small, and doesn't have any windows
While there is a curtain over the bedroom window, it's rather thin and doesn't block out the light very effectively, although there are shutters in the room

This is an area that exudes affluence, just north of Brera. The pace of life is much calmer than the centre of Milan, so those looking for a stylish but relaxed break in the city will be delighted with Moscova. Families may find this area a touch too quiet –...
