If your ideal holiday includes an intimate cottage near the beach, then this little escape in La Jolla is just the ticket. While it can comfortably accommodate a group of four if two of you take the sofa bed, there's actually plenty of space for everyone even when there are two couples roaming around. Aside from the cosy outdoor porch, there's also a larger garden out in the back where you can escape at any part of the day for a little slice of greenery. Getting to Windansea Beach will take you about ten minutes, but the best thing about this home is the fact that you're in the heart of the community — La Jolla's cafes and shops are much closer here than with most beachside homes. A typical day here starts with a nice cup of coffee on the porch, followed by a lazy walk to the beach. You only need to pack the essentials, since you can always come back to your holiday residence to grab a snack or a change of clothes. When you've had enough, stroll down to La Jolla Village to mingle with the locals or take the car downtown to experience the vibrant nightlife.
