This 18th century cottage is situated at the edge of the Brecon Beacons and is an ideal base for exploring everything the National Park has to offer. The traditional oak beams, squashy sofas and wood-burning stove add a cosiness that makes you feel right at home. Hire an E-bike and hit the trails while hikers ramble across the rolling hills and dramatic valleys. If you’d prefer to stay closer to home, there are streams for paddling in just beyond the garden. The fun doesn’t have to stop when darkness falls – or when the weather’s not on your side – fire up the grill in the barbecue lodge and cook up some local Welsh produce, accompanied by the tasty treats from your welcome pack. Sennybridge, with its two pubs, is just a mile away if you fancy a tipple or need to pick up some supplies from the village shop. And be sure to try out the telescope before you leave – the Brecon Beacons’ Dark Sky status makes this the ideal location for stargazing.
