This Suffolk barn has got serious charm. Built back in the nineteenth century and since converted into a smart hideaway, the home has plenty of original features and character. The cream shaker-style kitchen has rustic wood counters and plenty of space for whipping up hearty feasts, while the living room is arranged around a wood-burner that's ideal for gathering around after dinner. Both bedrooms feature the barn's original oak beams, but we love the second, which includes another wood-burner for extra cosiness. Outside, there's a little seating on the patio, but the property is set on five acres of land and with a further thirty-six acres of farmland surrounding — it feels a million miles from the stresses of everyday life. There's rolling countryside right on the doorstep and the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty can be reached in thirteen minutes' drive. The iconic seaside town of Southwold is less than half an hour away by car and a day is easily spent wandering between the independent shops or relaxing on the shingle beach.

About Halesworth
Built on a Roman settlement, Halesworth is a small market town with a lot of history. A wander through the pretty streets will reveal buildings from as far back at the 16th century, including timber-framed structures and former Victorian alms houses. There’s a sedate way of life here and there’s nowhere better to appreciate that than the town’s Thoroughfare, a partly pedestrianised area at the heart of Halesworth. Here you...
