A long private garden is something you probably wouldn't expect to find at a home in Porto's trendy arts district, but here it is – and what a treat. On a vibrant street packed with art galleries, concept stores and restaurants, this sleek and modern pad is a restful escape from it all, yet only steps away. Inside, you'll find a bright and stylish ground floor flat, cleverly extended to create the maximum amount of natural light. We love the pops of colour and botanical details that help to create a serene space and the huge window wall in the living area that opens onto a terrace where you can enjoy a barbecue outside in privacy. The peaceful master bedroom overlooking an inner courtyard provides the ideal setting for a dreamy night's sleep, while the second bedroom feels wonderfully tranquil too with its glass wall and curtain. Nearby, take a stroll through the Crystal Palace Gardens (a nine-minute walk), visit the Museu Nacional Soares dos Reis (a six-minute walk), one of the best museums in the city, or experience the colourful buzz of Cais da Ribeira (a twenty-five-minute walk). With your host able to book yacht sailing, helicopter rides, as well as food and wine tours, there’s no end to the fun and excitement in store. Back at home, there's a stunning sunset from the garden, so settle down with a glass of red and enjoy.

Local guide
About Miragaia
Situated to the west of the city centre, and leading down to the Douro river, Miragaia is a jumble of medieval streets. Like Ribeira, it has brightly coloured buildings and sweeping views over the water. But unlike the city’s main riverside hub, Miragaia is tucked away from the usual tourist trails. In the evenings its restaurant and bar scene thrives, but it’s generally calmer area, with a strong local population...
