Fun and funky, this villa is as vibrant on the inside as it's sunny on the outside. Built in 1964, that retro swagger is all over every inch of this home – not only is the furniture mid-century inspired, but the design is all about bright colours, sleek finishes, bold artwork and quirky details like the arcade game. It's also incredibly bright and very roomy –the open-plan living area is perfect for socialising, with more than enough space for everyone to gather and spread out. Cooking is a dream in the chrome kitchen, which has everything you'll need to whip up feasts. Serve them inside at the table, or instead, make the most of the desert sun and dine alfresco under the covered patio. But our favourite spot has to be the garden. It's a true oasis, with a heated pool, bubbling hot tub, crackling fire pit and gorgeous views of the mountains. You'll want to spend every moment out here, splashing in the water and tossing beanbags on the patch of grass – but when you crave a change of scenery, downtown Palm Springs, golf courses and beautiful hiking trails are all a short drive away.

• The pool can be heated outside of these dates for an additional $50 per day – these fees will be requested after booking confirmation, but prior to your arrival
