There's something about North Wales that still seems like a closely guarded secret, yet the sandy beaches and rugged countryside ought to be high up on everybody's radar. Perhaps a stay at this picturesque stone cottage might feel like you're making a discovery. A short drive from the beaches of the Llŷn Peninsula, this is a peaceful home under timber beams, all about traditional country living over two storeys. The furnishings all scream comfort, from the varnished pine tables and frilly throws on the beds, to the colourful cushions on leather sofas and the beanbag in the snug room. Then there's the shared outside area, where you can light up the barbecue and dine on the picnic benches with a view of seemingly endless fields. Penllech Beach is only eight minutes' drive away if you fancy a day at the seaside, while it's also possible to reach the base of Snowdon in just over an hour, too.
