Escaping to Tahoe just got a lot more appealing with this grand cabin in the woods. You’ll be right near the lake, surrounded by the snowy Sierra Nevada Mountain range, with a host of activities at your doorstep. Open up the large sliding glass in the living room and find a balcony cocooned by trees. Spend a peaceful morning here, lying in the hammock with a cup of tea to take in the fresh air and views. Fire up the grill and gather your family around the outdoor dining table for an alfresco lunch, or serve straight from the kitchen, just through the French doors. Granite work surfaces and an island in the centre provide plenty of prep space to create a family meal. Head indoors to get cosy by the fireplace in the living room, or challenge your kin to a game of foosball. Plaid furnishings, faux furs and wooden accents give this home a warm rustic feel that perfectly blends with the great outdoors.

About North Tahoe

On the border of California and Nevada, Lake Tahoe is one of the largest bodies of water in the US. As you'd expect, it's an area of astounding beauty, but the lake has also made a name for itself as a centre for both winter sports and water sports, as well as hiking and cycling. The north shore is a bit quieter and more relaxed than the south. While there's still plenty to do (including the annual food and wine festival), you're unlikely to see crowds like you do in other parts of the region.
