Do you have a question about this home or the local area?
When we say ‘17th-century Provencal farmhouse’ we know what you’re thinking – rustic stone walls, antique furnishings, cosy dark corners and a sun-drenched landscape dotted with lavender fields. With this extraordinary home you get just two things on the list – rustic stone walls and that exquisite Haute-Alpes landscape – the rest is an exercise in architectural alchemy. Whisked into the 21st century by its architect owners, the main house now combines the clean lines and perpendiculars of Modernism (we’re even seeing hints of Brutalism in there too) with De Stijl primary pops and, yes, traditional Provence design at its finest. For example, take a seat around the table in the sunken terrace dining area surrounded by clay pots of herbs and the verdant foothills and you’ll be living the southern French dream. But step inside the sleekly styled kitchen with its blasts of bright mauve, and an urban vibe greets you. The genius is combining radicalism with restraint. Invite guests to stay in the studio annexe and meet them around the heated pool and hot tub each day, or at the honesty bar in the stone-vaulted wine cellar. When it’s winter this is skiing country (Le Dévoluy is about a thirty-minute drive away) and in the summer you can swim in the River Büech, cycle through the hills or take a rock climbing lesson. Plus, there's the home's own badminton court and boules pitch.

About France
You could easily take a lifetime’s worth of French holidays and still feel like you haven’t scratched the nation’s surface. The most visited country in the world, France has long inspired artists, revolutionaries, dreamers, and bons vivants with its storybook landscapes, artistic treasures, and cultural idiosyncrasies. Paris is, of course, the country’s glittering centrepiece but there are countless beauty spots worth discovering outside of the City of Light. Sun yourself...

Host
This home is managed by Oliver
This home is managed directly by a business. A member of their staff will be your point of contact before and during your stay. Nearly twenty years ago, Oliver and his friend began curating the world's most unique and rustic getaways. Driven by their own unforgettable experience at a chateau, they have grown remarkably since then. Much like Plum, they believe in hand-picked luxury that doesn't break the bank.
