In the desert quiet of Coachella Valley, this sprawling estate brings you back to mother earth. Grounds are as landscaped as a British stately home, where meandering paths of cacti are shaded by 38 mesquite trees, singing with life at twilight. Wandering the private estate you’ll find a heated pool with a Baja shelf and built-in hot tub above. A sunken fire pit is set into the ground so the desert breeze doesn’t disturb you. The full-size tennis court is floodlit at night, and two bocce ball courts and a lawn for cornhole provide an evening’s entertainment, old-school style. The pool house is set up as a rustic-chic bar with outdoor dining just outside, though a 24-hour concierge service can arrange things like yoga sessions in the pool house and private cooking classes in the gourmet kitchen. Inside it’s all earthy tones and boho accents, and a glass fireplace at the centre of the living area keeps the desert chill at bay. If you want to get out and explore the local sights – La Quinta historic town, PGA West golf courses and desert trails – there are six beach cruisers bikes waiting for you.
