The coastal town of Porto-Vecchio boasts 16th-century architecture, delicious dining options, and a marina packed with luxe yachts. While holidaymakers flock here by sea to sunbathe on fabulous beaches and drink cocktails by the harbour, there are hidden delights slightly further inland. Sixteen minutes away by car, this former farmhouse sits upon the verdant backdrop of a lush valley – not a grain of sand in sight. We love the rustic architecture of the building. Chunky, stone exterior walls allow the home to blend in effortlessly with nature. While this 19th-century abode looks charmingly old-fashioned, the interiors tell another story. Step into a surprisingly fresh and modern living space. Its stylish grey corner sofa, white walls, and a sleek open-plan kitchen feel more Scandi minimalism than Corsican farmhouse. But high, vaulted ceilings make the home feel large and airy, with wooden ceilings bringing some of that rustic tradition back into play. Now, the best part of all – the glass doors leading to your terrace. Set on stone columns into the sloped hillside, this magical spot offers spectacular vistas right across the valley and your pool down below. Is there any better spot for a chilled glass of wine from a local vineyard?

About Corsica

Like a rugged jewel in the middle of the Mediterranean, there’s a reason Corsica is known as the “Isle of Beauty”. The French island boasts secluded beaches with glittering blue waters, picturesque cliff-side villages, and breathtaking mountain views. Corsica offers extremely diverse experiences, including snorkeling, wine tasting, and kayaking. For the keen hiker, there are hundreds of scenic trails, although shared with goats, cows, and other wildlife. A good place...
