Tucked in a bay just four minutes by car from Louse Point and East Harbor, this home feels more like a secret treehouse than a house in the Hamptons. While the Long Island Peninsula attracts so many people to its world-class beaches and coastal scenes, this stay offers something a bit more lush and green. That said, you’re only an eleven-minute walk to Barnes Hole Beach – and you’ve got swimming facilities onsite. This mid-century cottage is truly something special. Set among sweeping lawns and swaying, forest trees, its wooden exterior seamlessly blends in with the surroundings. Follow the paving stones down the garden to the patio of your own private, heated, freshwater pool. Forget about the beach and take a dip here instead, followed by a spritz in the outdoor shower and a barbecue on your wraparound terrace. When the sun sets, the indoor living space is where you’ll want to be. Spending time in such effortlessly cool and playful interiors is a real delight for the senses. This breathtaking room features an apex ceiling with beams, exposed brickwork, stag’s antlers, colourful art and furniture, all illuminated by huge skylights. Or in the case of the evening, stargazing windows.
