Animalia is one of those homes that manages to tell a story. All the artworks are original pieces made by the host and his father, and the beautiful vintage-style cast iron chairs are sourced from his uncle’s bar. The space could be a bit tight for six guests, but it would be perfect for a family or a small group of friends coming to experience the city. Bright and minimalist, it's a home with a spectacular view too. On the top floor and boasting not one but two spacious terraces, you can gaze across the rooftops and make the most of the evening sunshine in the summer months. The nearby church makes for an impressive backdrop and if you're hooked on views you can even visit it on a Sunday and climb its tall tower. Inside, white walls and pine floors mix with sloping ceilings, plentiful house plants and little dashes of character, to make for a relaxing, stylish city home. You'll have a bedroom sleeping up to three and the living room easily converts into a second sleeping space – although you'd be sacrificing your indoor starting. Buzzing Arkonaplatz and its popular flea market is only a short walk from your door and this lovely part of the city is packed with great bars and restaurants.
