There’s something very Scandinavian about Magical Realism – and yet, it’s not Scandinavian at all. The use of colour is bold and not something we see often in Copenhagen, but the references to nature through materials, textures and the more downplayed hues remind us of Scandinavian forests and fjords. It’s right in the heart of Copenhagen, so you won’t have to walk far to experience Nyhavn, Kongens Nytorv or Strøget – a downside to its central location is that it might get noisy at night.

Home truths

This home is old and typical of this part of Copenhagen – expect some sloped ceilings and uneven floors

There’s no space on the side of the bed in bedroom two as it’s been made to fit into the corner

The home has a peculiar layout – you have to walk through bedroom one to get to bedroom two

The windows are not soundproof – expect to hear some noise coming from the street

Both bathrooms are a little tired-looking, they could do with an update

Since there are no windows in the bathroom, there’s little natural ventilation

The water pressure isn’t as strong as we would have liked it to be

Light sleepers may want to look elsewhere – the blinds don’t do a great job at keeping out the sun light

The wifi is a bit slow
