4.0
A prototype of Scandinavian minimalism at its best, Modern Origami is sleek in a way that only new builds can be. Arne Jacobsen and Hans J. Wegner chairs mix with concrete surfaces and striking terrazzo finishes in a way that’s so sophisticated we’ll always remember it. Complete with a fitness centre, concierge and Restaurant Silo on the 17th floor, this home oozes modern luxury. It’s not in the liveliest area, but the fabulous views of Copenhagen’s harbour from every corner of this home made us forget about the short S-Train journey to the city centre.

Home truths
The area isn’t the liveliest we have ever been to, but you’re well-connected to the rest of Copenhagen
This home is split across the ninth and tenth floor – if you’re not keen on heights, it’s probably best to look elsewhere
There’s currently no home manual, but there’s a reception for any questions you may have
When we visited, the wifi was a bit slow
The staircase leading up to the first floor doesn't have rails so probably isn't suitable for toddlers or older guests
Bedroom two is very small – and the tinted glass door to the hallway is not for everyone

About Nordhavnen
Nordhavnen still bears remnants of its industrial past, but it’s also transitioning into a new and attractive urban area with lots of personality. Cool shops and independent eateries are already popping up here and there – we especially love Restaurant Silo and Andersen & Maillard, two unique haunts with great food, a warm atmosphere and beautiful harbourside views. There are big plans in the pipeline for this area (prepare yourself...
