We instantly fell for this impeccably stylish family home filled with artwork, designer pieces and antiques. Light shines through the west-facing patio and into the kitchen in the afternoon, making this a wonderful space to spend time in. With an extensive list of amenities, the home is ideal for everyday family living: the well-equipped kitchen is a pleasure to cook in, there are classic board games, DVDs and plenty of coffee table books to flicker through on a rainy afternoon. The quaint patio comes with seating and heating, so you can enjoy a drink alfresco all year round.

The host's housekeeper will come in twice a week to tidy up and look after Tiger, the resident Burmese cat, so while he will be around during your stay, he is free to come and go and you won't have to feed him
With four floors in the home, there are plenty of stairs
While you'll have the house to yourself, the master bedroom and its ensuite will remain locked as this is the host's room
This is not a super central spot, but it's a tranquil Notting Hill location, close to Westfield London and a twelve-minute stroll to Portobello Road

Syma founded a designer boutique that highlights the work of established and emerging Lebanese designers. She also has her own ceramics studio in the home and although you can't see this magical space, you'll be able to admire some of your host's creations in the kitchen.
