Camden Town

Neighbourhood

Camden Town

Bustling with bass, atmosphere and market stalls, Camden Town is a real mix of culture. Find yourself memorised by the scenic views at Primrose Hill or visit some of North London’s finest pubs after a day out shopping in Camden market.

REJOICE IN TAPAS AT EL PARADOR

Enjoy the scrumptious tortilla in this family-run Spanish restaurant. We promise you, it will have you coming back.

RELISH ON TEMPURA AT ASAKUSA

Named after the oldest geisha district in Tokyo, this unpretentious but characterful Japanese eatery has a good range of food and friendly service.

QUAFF A BEER AT THE EDINBORO CASTLE

When the sun's out, this is a no-brainer. Head over to the beer garden and choose their selection of local beers.

BE PART OF THE STREET CULTURE AT CAMDEN MARKET

Potter past loitering punks and goths and shop at the the variety of independent markets.

WIND DOWN AT CAMDEN LOCK

Formerly a wharf with stables, this is a great spot to mingle, drink a coffee and shop round the plethora of market stalls.

BREATHE FRESH AIR AT REGENT'S PARK

One of the most beautiful parks in London. This park was originally a hunting ground for Henry VIII. Now you will find the London Zoo to the enchanting Open Air Theatre amongst other things.

ENJOY NOODLES AT COBA

We highly recommend this Vietnamese eatery for its prawn summer rolls. If anything, it is a great BBQ restaurant, worth a detour.

GO FOR A SWIM AT HAMPSTEAD HEATH

This is the secret of Hampstead Heath. Make a beeline for the ponds when the sun is out. A magical spot which feels miles away from the buzz of London.

YOUR CORDON BLUE IS ODETTE'S

If there is ever a local French restaurant up the Primrose Hill, this one will be cooking up a storm. A perfect romantic setting with a dining garden.

TOILET BAR AT LADIES AND GENTLEMEN

If you are after an eccentric night out in the neighbourhood, this cocktail bar housed in a former underground toilet in a go-to-place.

SOAK UP THE SUN ATOP PRIMROSE HILL

Climb atop the hill and see the whole of London. A great spot for a picnic or a stroll in the park.

SAUNTER BY THE REGENT'S CANAL

There's something truly magical about this canal as It takes you away from the frenzy of the capital.

The Lows

  • The entrance stairs leading to the apartment are quite steep.
  • The bed is "floating" over the living area so again you must enjoy the feeling of heights.
  • The bathtub is free-standing within the kitchen area.

Have you ever booked a holiday home with great reviews and found yourself disappointed? Us too.

That is why the Plum Guide doesn’t operate a traditional review system. Instead we test every one of our homes obsessively against 32 criteria. Only 1 in 100 homes we test, is accepted. This is one of them.

This home has been accepted because it:

  • Received 5 exceptional customer reviews
  • Passed all 32 criteria of our in-person hospitality test
  • Has 3 “super powers”: 3 unique things that make it a truly amazing stay
  • Received a unanimous "In" vote by the Plum Hospitality Judges
  • Received top marks from every Plum Guide guest, since being listed with us

"Designed by Retrouvius, the former warehouse used to be the residence of a falconer. These days, the 1 bedroom apartment provides thrills and inspiration to the design aficionado. The first sign that hints at the flavour to come is the original steep and narrow oak staircase that leads up to the accommodation. The kitchen is furnished with a Matthew Hilton dining table and bookended by oxblood vintage chairs. A look that already suggests the style direction of the interiors. The fearless presence of the free-standing bathtub right in the kitchen tickles the viewer with a slight discomfort. Or does it advocate that the impossible is possible? And in a similar vein, the floating bed hovering over the sitting room certainly favours a quirky and unusual lifestyle over a banal and conventional approach to living. But more to the point, the focus is on maximising space. "
