Pimlico

Neighbourhood

Pimlico

Not as well known as its neighbouring areas, Pimlico is a peaceful residential retreat of Georgian Houses and public squares. Yet, it still has a well balanced culture of offerings, from farmer’s markets to close access to the Tate Britain.

LUNCH AT THOMAS CUBITT

The best of British cuisine within butterflies in bell-jars and taxidermy. Try their braised Herefordshire kid goat pie. You won't be disappointed.

LISTEN TO THE CHOIR AT WESTMINSTER CATHEDRAL

The Roman Catholic Cathedral has a professional residential choir who sings every day at Mass in the church and it is free.

CHANGING THE GUARD AT BUCKINGHAM PALACE

SEE A MUSICAL AT THE APOLLO VICTORA

Famous for being the home of the musical Wicked, which has played for eleven years at the venue as of 2017.

QUAFF A DRINK AT CLARENDON COCKTAIL CELLAR

This subterranean bar with its tin-tile ceiling, antique cast iron library shelves, and vintage marine lamps is the perfect setting for an intimate evening.

HAVE BREAKFAST AT REGENCY CAFE

This famous British caff opened its door in 1946 and has been used as a filming location on many occasions.

AFTERNOON TEA AT GALLERY MESS

Part of the Saatchi gallery, so expect the place to look swish. Try their afternoon teas for under £30 for two.

ENJOY A COCKTAIL AT COMPTOIR LIBANAIS

GRAB A PINT AT CASK

This pub has a good selection of beers and is a must-visit destination for the beer enthusiast.

RELISH ON TAPAS AT GOYA

Simple Spanish fare but it is all fresh and this joint is charming. Try their grilled seafood washed down with a jug of Sangria

The Lows

  • It is a lower ground apartment but it is not so bad as it sounds and there is natural light.
  • There is no microwave or freezer in the apartment.
  • The apartment is a studio, meaning no separation between the sleeping area and living area.

Have you ever booked a holiday home with great reviews and found yourself disappointed? Us too.

That is why the Plum Guide doesn’t operate a traditional review system. Instead we test every one of our homes obsessively against 150 criteria. Only 1 in 100 homes we test, is accepted. This is one of them.

This home has been accepted because it:

  • Received 5 exceptional customer reviews
  • Passed all 150 criteria of our in-person hospitality test
  • Has 3 “super powers”: 3 unique things that make it a truly amazing stay
  • Received a unanimous "In" vote by the Plum Hospitality Judges
  • Received top marks from every Plum Guide guest, since being listed with us

"Snuggled away amongst the white stucco terraced period houses in the exclusive area of Pimlico, this little studio apartment oozes with unpretentious personality. It sucks you into its lower ground and playfully charms you with its neatly gathered books using colour blocking. The artwork on the wall plays with joviality and stripes whilst the walnut turntable vinyl recorder insists that life should not be taken too seriously. The decoration is boyish but in a mature sort of way. It echoes perhaps the fun-loving and breezy nature of its owner. But this is quickly counteracted by the bathroom. Whilst you may have expected all along the ending, like in a Hitchcock's film, you get confronted by the unexpected. Vaulted ceiling, and the depth of the room need not describing but seeing. The bathroom is the icing on the cake. It decapitates any negative thoughts you could have had about this apartment and confirms this place stands high amongst accommodations with character. "
