This brownstone family home can be found in the historic Brooklyn neighbourhood of Clinton Hill. As you can see from the three bedrooms packed with plush animals and toys, it's certainly best catered to parties with small children among their number. However, that's not to say that the interior is completely given over to little ones – the master bedroom is beautifully appointed with a soothing colour palette and a gloriously zen bathroom. The dining area is a picture of rustic elegance with its wooden table and period fireplace (which, as well as looking good, is in full working order ready for the chillier months). When the weather's warmer, there's a small leafy garden and alfresco seating on the terrace along with a barbecue. You'll find two subway stations within a five-minute walk that can take you over to Manhattan in just twenty minutes, but if you want to stay on this side of the East River, then Clinton Hill has plenty of boutiques, markets and green spaces to enjoy.
