This chic studio is the perfect option for a couple looking for a place in one of Paris' hottest and trendiest neighbourhoods. With access to an on-site concierge and options like laundry services, it feels like a boutique hotel, yet you'll have a tiny kitchenette and a small sitting area that makes this Parisian pad more like a home. It's set in a traditional Montmartre building and faces a quiet courtyard, so though this is a vibrant locale, you'll have plenty of peace and relaxation in the evenings. We love the vintage vibe inside, with mid-century furniture and a collection of retro decorations like the antique typewriter. But our favourite bit is the swoon-worthy clawfoot bathtub – after a busy day exploring, you'll love unwinding with a glass of wine and a soak. South Pigalle's buzzing brasseries, neo-bistros, cosy cafes and cocktail bars are literally on your doorstep, so there's plenty for you to discover. And if you're in Paris for a bit of sightseeing, Sacré-Cœur is just a thirteen-minute walk, while the iconic Moulin Rouge is a short stroll away. Plus, the transport links here are excellent, so getting around the rest of Paris is a breeze.

Home truths

The kitchen in this home is small and best suited to light meals – that said, there are so many excellent eateries nearby, we didn't mind not cooking

There are steps to access the apartment, so it may not be suited to those with limited mobility

The wifi can be a bit patchy

During our visit, the air conditioning was via a reversible heat pump that can both cool off during the summer and heat in the winter

About South Pigalle

South Pigalle, previously a rather seedy corner of Paris (home to the Moulin Rouge), has picked up a new nickname, 'SoPi', and gone all trendy. Most tourists alighting at the Pigalle metro station tend to walk up towards Montmartre and the Sacré-Coeur, but hipster Parisians – the self-styled BoBo (bourgeois bohemians) – head in the opposite direction, to South Pigalle. During the day, wander in and out of the gorgeous...
