Golden Lining

Golden Lining, Plum Guide home in London

Click to book Golden Lining now: from £110 per night Golden Lining is a small home, but it punches above its weight in every other category. It’s impeccably stylish and the south-facing windows bring in lots of natural light. We particularly loved the marble in the kitchen and all of the contemporary gold finishes. Also, even though its small, the kitchen is well-equipped with a coffee machine and modern appliances. We do have to note that an overground train passes by the bedroom window, which can make it pretty loud (we measured 75dB), but if you're not too sensitive to noise at night, it’s a great flat. Sleeps up to 2 | 1 Bedroom | 1 Bathroom

The Highbury Studio

The Highbury Studio, Plum Guide home in London

Click to book The Highbury Studio now: from £110 per night This soulful studio is calm, charming and cosily romantic. It's set in a Victorian building and you can see some of that period character in the high ceilings, exposed brick and oak flooring. Parrot cushions and colourful throws give it a quirky personality, while the furniture is simple yet stylish. You'll love how friendly and knowledgeable host Gabrielle is, plus the way natural light pours in through large windows. We like how the bed is tucked away from the living area, so there's a nice sense of separation between where you relax and where you sleep. The snug size does mean there's no washing machine or dishwasher, but neither's an issue if you're not staying too long, and as Islington is known for its buzzing restaurant and gastropub scene, we doubt you'd be getting up to much cooking. Bustling Upper Street is about a ten-minute stroll – home to an array of cosy cafes, independent shops and delicious eateries – and public transport links here are top-notch, with three different stations less than ten minutes away. Sleeps up to 2 | 1 Bedroom | 1 Bathroom
