Manhattan Vistas, Plum Guide home in New York

Miranda & Steve

Miranda & Steve, Plum Guide home in New York

Click to book Miranda & Steve now: from £500 per night In the Sex and the City episode in which hotshot lawyer Miranda reveals to her friends that she's moving to Brooklyn, they react with shock and disappointment. That, however, was more than a decade-and-a-half ago and a lot has changed since then, especially when apartments like this pop up on the other side of the East River. Part of a brick townhouse in Vinegar Hill, the first floor of this home is lined with big windows that let in oodles of natural light and has a loft-style kitchen with stainless steel appliances and granite work surfaces. So far, so chic. There's also an additional floor on the lower ground level, which feels cosier thanks to the huge TV and filled bookcase. Even though you can't see out the windows on this storey, the Basquiat prints on the wall remind you where you are. It's a residential neighbourhood with two parks within fifteen minutes' walk – Trinity and Commodore Barry – but there are also plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby, too. You can even be in Manhattan in under fifteen minutes on the subway – hey, we're not judging. Sleeps up to 5 | 2 Bedrooms | 2 Bathrooms

Hollenback's Stable

Hollenback's Stable, Plum Guide home in New York

Click to book Hollenback's Stable now: from £450 per night With Plum headquarters in London, we have a soft spot for historic homes and repurposed beauty. This Brooklyn Carriage house, built in 1849 and used as a stable for the mansion next door, gives us all the feels by maintaining and styling around original features such as the exposed pine beams and brick walls. French limestone countertops, Balinese antiques, antique panelled doors, and Urban Archeology cargo lights perfectly meld old-world charm and modern flair. And with two teak decks, lovingly built around 200-year old cherry trees, we're tempted to book this home for ourselves. Sleeps up to 4 | 2 Bedrooms | 2 Bathrooms
