If you’re in search of an easygoing Cotswolds getaway, this home makes a great option. You’ll find it’s just a short drive or bus ride into the heart of Gloucester city centre, while Cheltenham is also within easy reach. There is a large private garden and the open-plan living room and kitchen lends itself perfectly to social gatherings. It’s worth noting this home isn’t suitable for infants or children, but we think it makes a great spot for a refreshing adults-only escape. 


Sun Whisper

With an open fire, window seats, and a country garden to the rear, this cottage ticks all the boxes for a cosy Cotswold stay. The design inside is warm and welcoming, albeit a tad dated, but all the essentials are taken care of. Outside, the garden is perfect for dinner and drinks in the fresh air. Keen to explore your surroundings? You'll find a fantastic pub down the road, endless panoramic walks in the local area, and the pretty village of Chipping Campden just a short drive away.

Ebrington Delight

This honey-coloured home opens its doors to a refreshing Cotswolds escape. Tucked away in the village of Blockley, you can walk to the local pub and you’ll find easy access to hiking trails across the countryside. Street parking is available and you’ll have access to two outdoor patios – perfect for lazy summer afternoons. Inside, the reception rooms provide everything you could need for cosy evenings at home. It’s worth noting there are three floors here with steep stairs, but overall it’s a great option for families with the sweet addition of bunk beds in the second bedroom.

Cotswold Sun

Perfect for families, this home is located in a quiet residential area just a short drive from Gloucester’s city centre. It’s also close to Cheltenham Spa and is well positioned for exploring the Cotswolds. We love the garden, with its decked area and outdoor dining space – though the hot tub is the star of the show. Inside, you’ll find a cosy lounge with a log-burner and a conservatory with table football – ideal for kids. 

Gloucestershire Glow

Make the most of the generously sized garden at this home in Highnam on the outskirts of Gloucester. Through the French doors from the outdoor space, you’ll find the well-equipped kitchen-diner – there’s plenty of room here for your group to cook and chat. If you simply must catch up on emails while away, there’s also a desk space in the living room. Or, have a stroll around the village and the Highnam Court estate. The city of Gloucester is 3 miles away and is known for its docks and 11th-century cathedral, while 10 miles away is the town of Cheltenham.

Gleaming Gem

In the heart of Gloucester, this fuss-free home puts all the sights within walking distance. Whether you want to grab a bite to eat, marvel at the Cathedral, or catch a game at the Kingsholm Rugby Stadium, you'll be well-placed to get out and about. Back home, there isn't much space to spread out – especially with the sofa bed in use – but the contemporary interiors are a relaxing respite from the hustle and bustle. There's a well-appointed kitchen if you fancy a home-cooked meal, and the dining table also doubles as a desk for remote workers. Plus, with free permit parking available, exploring the Cotswolds is a breeze.

Gloucester Gem

This cottage embodies the quintessential Cotswolds experience. The interiors are warm and welcoming, made even cosier by the wood-burning stove in the living area. With a desk for remote work, a fully equipped kitchen, and a quaint courtyard garden, you'll have everything you need for a laid-back stay. It is a period home, so expect steep stairs, low ceilings, and exposed stone walls that add some much-loved character. In terms of location, you're just a five-minute drive from Cirencester. Eateries and cosy pubs abound in this area – perfect for nights when you don't feel like cooking.

Two Kings

Located on the edge of Wilton Village on the banks of the River Wye, this grand castle boasts expansive grounds with space for alfresco dining amongst the ancient buildings. The exposed brick and stone alongside vintage furniture and paintings highlight the home's original construction, but this dated interior won't be for everyone. The location is beautiful though, with the Wye Valley being an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. You'll receive a hamper when you first arrive and pets are welcome, so we think it's a good spot for families and friend groups looking for a historic stay with lush surroundings.

The Bell

This charming first floor apartment is the perfect place to relax and enjoy your holiday in the Cotswolds. The apartment boasts stylish interiors, a spacious open plan living area and beautiful countryside views. Located near Burford, this fabulous dog friendly property is the perfect romantic base to explore the Cotswolds with loved ones or friends.

Windrush Heights

Experience all the charm of the Cotswolds in this historic cottage. Its thatched roof, honey-hued stone, and leaded windows are straight from a fairy tale. Step inside, however, and you'll find a few modern surprises. A sleek extension houses the contemporary kitchen-diner, offering a pretty view of the garden through its large windows. But if you're missing that quintessential character, the living area has it in spades – with the fire roaring in the stone hearth, it's the definition of cosy. Locaton-wise, Burford is just a short drive away, while local favourites like Stow-on-the-Wold, Bourton-on-the-Water, and Blenheim Palace are also within easy reach.

Thatch & Glass

Whether you’re in search of a countryside adventure or a cosy escape, this Cotswolds home welcomes you to enjoy it all from its peaceful spot in Mickleton. Inside, the rooms are traditional and family-friendly with plenty of socialising space. There is also a games room in the garage and a garden with a barbecue – perfect for warm-weather meals. It’s also worth noting the fourth bedroom has a double sofa bed and children’s amenities can be arranged on request. From here, it’s just a short stroll into the village where you’ll find a local shop and two great pubs. Plus, it’s less than a ten-minute drive to Broadway and Chipping Campden.

Game On

On a private estate in the heart of the Cotswolds, this grand, glass-fronted home sits right on the water at Lake Bowmoor. The wooden deck, furnished with luxury loungers, sofas and a dining table for the whole group, juts out over the calm lake and from here, you can spot ducks, swans and divers as you dine. To the side of the house, you’ve got your own eight-person motorboat for a cruise across the lake, and kayaks and paddleboards too. There’s a covered hot tub should you wish to unwind after. Glass doors to blend indoors with outdoors so you can pick one of the lavish circular sofas inside and still enjoy the sights and sounds of the lake with the doors pulled back. 

The kitchen is a haven of modernity, with a sub-zero wine fridge to keep whites crisp and cool and chiller cabinets for the barbecue salads. Gather the group at the banquet-sized dining table with its quirky egg chairs for a huge family meal and open up the doors to the lake view. There are plenty of mod cons to keep the group entertained, like the flatscreen TV, but also a collection of books and board games to make the most of the tranquillity of your location. Should you need to work remotely there are desks in the bedrooms and a dedicated office space with floor-to-ceiling windows.

On the estate, you’ve got plenty of activities to choose from, like wild swimming, a heated indoor pool, bicycle hire, spa days and a Go Ape adventure course. But if you want to get out and explore the area, Cirencester is a twenty-minute drive away and the idyllic Cotswolds village of Bibury fifteen minutes by car.
