This traditional tenement-style apartment is big enough for an extended family or group of friends visiting Edinburgh. On Lothian Road, it’s a short walk from the high street shops and sprawling gardens of Princes Street and there are plenty of restaurants, pubs and bars right outside your door to choose from. A twelve-minute walk sees you in the medieval Old Town where Edinburgh Castle stands above the city.

Inside, it feels like a mesh of modern and old with a sleek white kitchen sitting against the ornately corniced ceiling. The open-plan living arrangement would suit social butterflies who like to chat away the evening, holed up on the huge slate-grey sofa. Bedrooms feel spacious with high ceilings and there are reminders of tenement life in Edinburgh throughout – the traditional wall press and original fireplaces in some of the bedrooms, for example.

The Royal Mile and Scottish Parliament are both a fifteen-minute saunter away. Or take the family to Dynamic Earth, a state-of-the-art attraction that tells the story of the planet Earth, a seventeen-minute walk. Another visitor favourite, Edinburgh Castle, is just over thirty minutes on foot (twelve minutes in the car).

Located in Edinburgh's New Town, this modern studio space puts you in the heart of the city and is just a stone's throw away from the sought-after eating, drinking and shopping opportunities. While the kitchen area is compact, and you won't find an oven here, there is space to prepare breakfasts or serve some afternoon tea. This allows guests to balance dining out with some more low-key moments in the studio. On foot, you'll find the city's historical sights, including Edinburgh Castle and Scottish National Portrait Gallery, just a twelve-minute walk away. 


In the Still of the Night

It's quite fitting that this elegant studio apartment with its beautiful painted mural is close to the Scottish National Gallery and Scottish Gallery of Modern Art (both are an eight-minute stroll away). There's more culture to be had at the National Portrait Gallery and the Museum on the Mound, eleven minutes on foot. Edinburgh Castle, St James Quarter, the Scott Monument, and St Giles' Cathedral are all within a fifteen-minute or less wander too. Edinburgh International Conference Centre, on the other hand, is just a three-minute walk, and the University of Edinburgh, the Old Town and the Royal Mile are all under a twenty-five-minute amble, while there are plenty of restaurants and bars nearby for refreshments.

After a busy day of sightseeing, take a seat on one of the comfy chairs and admire the artwork with a wee dram. Or get some rest in the bedroom with its dramatic dark navy-hued wood panelling. We love the character features in this apartment, such as the high ceilings, cornices, sash windows and shutters. After you've put your feet up for a while, get ready in the bathroom with its terrazzo-effect tiling and head to bed or if you're anything like us, sample the restaurants and bars – well, they're close by, and it would be rude not to.
