This charming villa sits in the peaceful village of Koxari. It boasts sea views and countryside vistas, which can be enjoyed from the terrace and beside the private pool. There’s a barbecue for alfresco dining on the patio, too. Inside, the villa is pretty and traditional. One of the bedrooms is on the mezzanine so is semi-open to the living space below, which isn’t entirely private – but could suit families with younger children. In terms of location, you’ll be just a five-minute drive from the village of Gouves, and ten minutes from pristine beaches.

Charming Cretan Retreat

Overlooking a bay and the beach, this Cycladic-inspired apartment is a romantic base perfect for sun lovers. The hydromassage bath is a nice touch – it's just calling out to be used after a day at the beach. The home rests on a resort with several other apartments – perfect if you're travelling as part of a group. Importantly though, you'll still enjoy plenty of privacy, despite having neighbours. The kitchenette only includes a few hotplates, so you won't be cooking. Luckily, breakfast is included, but the nearest restaurant is 3.5 km away – you'll want to have a car here.

Perfect for a romantic getaway, while the interiors may not be to everyone’s taste, the outdoor space serves up views of the Mirabello Gulf which you can enjoy from the private infinity pool or Jacuzzi. And with daily breakfast included, you can roll out of bed and fuel up for the day ahead without so much as lifting a finger.

Arriving at this hilltop sanctuary, you’ll find it hard to take your eyes off the views. Overlooking the northwest coast of Crete, this is the perfect opportunity to switch off and savour the magic of coastal living. From leisurely swims in the private pool to restorative sessions in the home spa, every detail has been considered to inspire optimum relaxation. There is also a gym, a pool bar, a children’s playground and a concierge service offering extras like a private chef and massage treatments. The inside offers plenty of space to unwind when you need a repose from the midday sun, with an extra bedroom for flexible sleeping arrangements. Out in the peace of Crete’s countryside, this grand-looking villa offers a deluxe base from which to explore the ancient archaeological sites and beautiful beaches along the coast near Heraklion. The mountain villa of Rodia is within walking distance and Heraklion itself a twenty-five-minute drive away. Beautifully landscaped gardens and terraces are home to a private swimming pool and a full outdoor kitchen with a wood-fired pizza oven. Each level of the home has a balcony with a glorious sea view and plenty of windows in the open living area on the first floor show off that endless blue. The gourmet kitchen is a chef’s dream.
