No, you're not dreaming – this home is truly as pretty as it looks. Located in Fuhlendorf, on Germany's Baltic coast, it's a special place where you can spend some quality time with your favourite people, and make some fabulous memories together. 

Like something out of a children's storybook, this traditional cottage has a thatched roof, blue shutters, and a red brick path leading up to the front door. Step inside, and you'll find a cosy space with squashy sofas and a toasty fireplace that invites you to get comfortable. There's even a private sauna, where you can sweat out your stresses, along with a corner bath for long soaks. And, out in the back garden, you'll find a wonderful dining area, where you can eat as the sun goes down across the water. 

From here, you can easily visit the beach at Zingst – it's just eighteen minutes away by car. Relax on the sand, wander along the pier, then take a trip to the seabed in the town's unique diving bell. And, if you're feeling active, you can lace up your hiking boots and explore the Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft National Park, only a thirty-five-minute drive away. 

Fairy Stories

With its thatched roof, white-washed exterior and tranquil waterside location, this quaint home is the epitome of a chocolate box cottage. Step inside and it’s a modern affair – think sophisticated pops of teal, natural textures and a contemporary wood-burning stove to keep you toasty on chilly days. Better still, there’s a private sauna for serious pamper sessions after long days spent exploring the German Riviera.

Enjoy a morning of wild swimming in the Bodden lagoon – you’ll find a bathing area just 170 metres from your doorstep – or jump in the car and take the eighteen-minute drive to Zingst for a dip in the Baltic Sea and a leisurely stroll along the sandy beach. In nearby Bodstedt, owners of Zeesen boats offer local trips, while a passenger ferry travels from the Darß peninsula, through the Neuendorfer Bülten to Ahrenshoop-Althagen – an ideal excursion in the warmer months.

Mornings are particularly lovely here, light floods into the home through the large windows and patio doors, inviting you outside for a coffee on the patio. Enjoy refreshing morning swims in the Bodden before following one of the area's many cycle paths that wind through unforgettable landscapes, passing castles and medieval churches along the way. The area is teeming with landscapes to let your dog run free and idyllic villages to explore. Bodstedt harbour is just a ten-minute walk away, known for its traditional Zeesen boats – you're bound to get talking to a friendly Zeesen boat owner, who will be happy to offer you a ride!

Cherry Cottage

Surrounded by lush greenery, this holiday apartment is the ideal getaway on Northern Germany's coast. You'll instantly feel at ease with the home's muted, neutral palette and modern furnishings. It is contemporary and stylish, but the large plush L-shaped sofa and homely decor make it homely and inviting. You'll love waking up in your luxurious bed and opening the patio doors to invite in the crisp countryside fresh air and cascading sunlight. Enjoy your morning coffees out on the patio, but we imagine an afternoon glass of wine will go down even better out here. You're just a fifteen-minute walk from the centre of the holiday town of Zingst with its lively restaurants, bars, shops, and more. And you're less than a four-minute walk away from the beach. There, you can swim, relax on the sand, windsurf, surf, jet ski, sail, or canoe. Enjoy refreshing morning swims in the Baltic Sea before following one of the area's many cycle paths that wind through unforgettable landscapes, passing castles and medieval churches along the way.

Sugar & Myrtle

The epitome of tranquillity, this home's serene waterfront views will take your breath away. You'll find it tucked away in Fuhlendorf, just a five-minute walk from the southern coast of the Bodstedter Bodden. Here, you're immersed in the region's breathtaking natural beauty and perfectly positioned to enjoy long walks through the countryside.

We especially love the free-flowing living space, brimming with amenities and, through floor-to-ceiling windows, boasting picturesque garden views from every corner. Between adventures, unwind with a soothing session in the sauna, or kick back beside the fireplace with a cup of hot chocolate.

However, the real gem of this home is the outdoor space. Surrounded by idyllic scenery and overlooking the water, it's the perfect place to enjoy the sunshine. Spend time relaxing on the lush lawn and come sunset, enjoy an alfresco feast on the terrace.

Moonstone Lullaby

This charming thatched cottage in Fuhlendorf offers an ideal escape, located just a five-minute walk from Bodstedter Bodden’s waters. 
 
Cheerful and bright, the home’s insides welcome you to relax in the open-plan living area, whether snuggled up by the wood-burning fire with a glass of wine or gathered together around the dining table for an at-home feast. You’ve also got the option to dine alfresco with a shaded patio giving way to lovely views of the home’s garden, dotted with lavender and flowers in bloom. 
 
Ramp up the relaxation even more with some time in the home’s private sauna, or treat yourself to a long soak in the tub after a day in the great outdoors. When it’s time for bed, the three beautifully dressed bedrooms wait to drift you into a dreamy night’s sleep, leaving you feeling rested and ready for another day of fun. 
 
Speaking of fun, head to the water’s edge for an afternoon of swimming or walk twelve minutes to Bodstedt where people offer Zeesenboote ride-share opportunities for boat trips. The first weekend in September sees the Bodstedt Zeesenboot regatta take place – a tradition that’s been upheld since 1965 – while those looking to sink their toes in the sand can drive twenty minutes to Sandstrand Zingst. 

Thatched Lavender

We're completely in awe of this home's idyllic location. You'll find it in Fuhlendorf, just a five-minute walk from the southern coast of the Bodstedter Bodden and promising tranquillity. Here, you're perfectly positioned to explore. Enjoy long walks through your scenic surroundings, explore picturesque villages and for ample hiking and cycling trails, visit the Western Pomerania Lagoon Area National Park, a thirty-minute walk away. If you're craving the coast, take a seventeen-minute drive to the lively seaside resort of Zingst to relax on its white-sand beach and paddle in the Baltic Sea.

From the outset, this home charms with its rustic facade. You'll find it nestled in a cluster of thatched-roofed dwellings all huddled around the reed-fringed shores of a large pond. Between adventures, spend time relaxing on the lush lawn and enjoying alfresco meals on the terrace. Inside, light-filled and spacious interiors boast stylish decor and contemporary comforts. We love the open-plan living space, with its beautifully-equipped kitchen and cosy lounge. Come sunset, snuggle up on the plush sofas with a cup of hot chocolate and watch a movie beside the glow of the fireplace.

Willow Whisper

This thatch-roofed house, settled along the Bodden Strait, is the perfect cosy getaway. You're just a thirty-second walk away from the water, where you can swim, fish, and just relax while listening to the calm waters glide past. 

Despite its traditional appearance, the interior of this home is contemporary and stylish. The plush velvet furniture is the perfect setting for relaxing with a glass of wine while the fire crackles beside you in the evenings. And if you need more opportunity for relaxation, spend some you-time in the sauna before soaking in the deep tub with candles flickering on. In the morning, patio doors on every side of the house invite in a beautiful light that travels through the whole home. Lighting up every detail of this well-thought-out and sleek haven. 

When it's time to explore, the Bodden is surrounded by vast landscapes that your dog will love and idyllic villages. In particular, Bodstedt harbour is just a ten-minute walk away and known for its traditional Zeesen boats – walk along the harbour and you're bound to get talking to a friendly Zeesen boat owner, who will be happy to offer you a ride!

Hansel's Grotto

With a pitched roof and charming angular balcony, this home in Zingst is a portal to the ultimate beach-holiday fun. Not only are you in close proximity to the beautiful sandy beaches – cue long, lazy days sunbathing, building sandcastles, and sampling every possible flavour combination of ice cream – but there's also an opportunity for kitesurfing if you’re in the mood for a bit of a thrill. If you’re thinking, well, that’s not very relaxing, then a casual round of minigolf might be more up your alley – a course is just a fourteen-minute walk away. And if that’s still too much activity, then you seem to be of the same mindset as us and we recommend finding yourself a nice cafe to enjoy a coffee at whilst you catch up on your reading. 

There are hiking trails here and if you can get your hands on a bicycle, you can even follow a cycling trail to really experience the full beauty of the natural landscape around this home. After you’ve had dinner at one of the restaurants – there’s a seafood place, steakhouse, and pizzeria all within walking distance – return home with leftover dessert and enjoy it with a glass of wine as you sit out on the balcony.

Zingst Charm

Beaches might not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Germany, but this modern apartment in the north of the country is sure to convince you of its coastal credentials.

Sitting in a building only constructed in 2021, guests are treated to lovely views of Marina Wendtorf and the boats bobbing about in the water, as well as the sea blending into the distant horizon. This scenery can be enjoyed out in the open air on the home's balcony or out through the large windows while cosied up inside.

You'll be able to tell that the apartment is new as soon as you step through the front door. There's a monochrome theme throughout, with white walls and kitchen surfaces only broken up by black furnishings and a grey floor — the overall effect is strikingly modern.

When you're looking for ways to fill an afternoon, the nearest beaches can be reached in around a quarter of an hour on foot and Bottsand Nature Reserve is half an hour's walk. The port city of Kiel and its collection of museums take a similar amount of time in the car, too.
