Georgian London survives in this beautiful snug of a home. Sit on the Chesterfield sofa below framed tapestries, warmed by a crackling wood-burner, or stand on the Juliet balcony, sipping whiskey and gazing regally at the neighbouring terraces. Full-height windows, fur drapes and a four-poster bed further the classy feel, while cool Tom Dixon brass lights seamlessly add some modern pizzazz. Though the kitchenette is best for small meals, many excellent restaurants await nearby. We would bear in mind that the home has old walls, so it's not the quietest space.

The Georgian

This two-storey pad is a great spot in the cultural heart of Angel. Though there's no lift in the building, you'll be treated to a balcony and rooftop terrace, which makes the climb all the more worth it. The space is comfortable, with a modern kitchen for whipping up home-cooked meals – if the weather allows, why not tuck in on the terrace? That said, Angel’s restaurants and theatres give you plenty of reasons to go out. Plus, Angel tube station is a short walk away for easy access to London’s sights.

Angel Minimalism

This charming flat boasts a prime location just behind Sadler Wells theatre and a short 3-minute stroll from Angel Underground station. Travelling to King's Cross? It's just one tube stop away (4 minutes) on the Northern Line! Accommodation includes two serene bedrooms, one with a king bed and the other with a queen, each offering built-in wardrobes and hotel-quality linens for a peaceful slumber.

Angel & King's Cross

This apartment’s location is ideal for a stay in the centre of London. It’s a short hop on the Tube from Kings Cross Station to the nearest stop (Angel, a five-minute walk away) and an easy saunter into Shoreditch for all the pop-up restaurants, artisan shops and indie boutiques you could want. The rest of London – Covent Garden, Westminster and the South Bank – can be reached within minutes on the Tube.

One of the great benefits of this apartment is the big kitchen, which is well-stocked with all the appliances you need for self-catering. Its position in the open-plan living area means the chef of the group can always have one ear in the conversation. The living area leads onto a small balcony overlooking the street should you want to step out for a breath of air. Bedrooms are comfortable spots and the main bedroom has a laptop-friendly desk by the window should you need to work remotely. 

Friendship Never Ends

Located in a beautiful white stucco townhouse, just a three-minute walk from Angel Tube station, this studio flat is a fantastic choice for a solo traveller or couple looking for a stylish space but who don't need lots of superfluous space. Despite the lofty three-metre-high ceilings and large sash window, your host – an experienced architect and interior designer – has really put a lot of thought into the layout and decor to make the most of the compact size. No detail has been overlooked in the pursuit of perfection, and every element must earn its place. As a result, the home manages to be both a chic yet relaxing space for two people to enjoy comfortably. We loved the use of beautiful natural materials, which are mixed with a subtle and mature colour palette. A bonus is a super-smart bathroom, complete with a sumptuous bathtub – perfect for a soak at the end of a busy day exploring the pubs, indie boutiques and antiques shops that dot this corner of North London.

House of Coir

If you’re in search of simplicity and ease in a great location, this apartment is for you. Located in the heart of Angel, it’s just a five-minute walk to the nearest underground station and Regent’s Canal. You’ll find plenty of restaurants, cafes and bars within easy reach, while Shoreditch is just ten-minutes away. By night, this home makes a great base to switch off and unwind. There is plenty of space to stretch out across the living room and bedrooms. Plus, you’ll have access to a shared garden during your stay. Remote workers will also appreciate the small study with a desk. 

Angel Air

House of Hemp is a super stylish home with a design that maximises the space. The palette of earthy colours works harmoniously with the abundance of natural fabrics, and cool light fittings smoothly blend the original cornicing with modern design. The home is situated on a busy main road, so street noise can be heard in the street-facing living room. But, the bedroom is definitely quieter and the TV makes it a great space to curl up in after a day exploring with a movie in bed. While there isn’t much storage space, one of the kitchen cupboards actually doubles up as a wardrobe.

House of Hemp

Combing industrial-chic, ethnic influence and attention to detail, this white stucco Islington apartment is all about the design. Soft pink hues cover the walls, and original features such as the polished wooden floorboards and exposed beams are intermingled with modern furnishings like the black metal bookshelf unit and glass coffee table. And we just love the sleek marble kitchen, complete with a sunny dining spot,  that's perfect for whipping up and enjoying home-cooked breakfasts. Come afternoon, enjoy a good book and perch on the rustic window-bench. You'll notice the giant cherry sculpture – another quirky touch that blends old and new in elegant fashion. In the bedrooms, the calming palette, soothing artwork, ethnic adornments and rattan headboard makes for a peaceful morning setting. Stroll across to the en-suite bathroom, open the charming slide and track door, and enjoy a long soak in the rainfall shower. When you're ready to set off, the local area is full of traditional pubs, restaurants and classy cafés – you'll find it's more of a friendly neighbourhood than a tourist hotspot. Take a wander around tranquil Regent's Canal, just a four-minute stroll away, or hop on the tube at Angle Station (three minutes walk), taking you into King's Cross within twelve minutes. 

House of Java

Pastel shades and floral patterns – Remington Street, a four storied terraced house, is quite the blushing beauty. Appreciate the original features throughout the home like the fireplace and its original tiling dating back to the 1920s.

Remington Street

Just a three-minute walk from Angel tube station, this elegant loft-style space is housed in a classic white stucco Islington townhouse. In this restored Georgian building, the top floor is where you’ll find your charming new home. After entering this historic exterior, there's a delightful contrast inside. The interiors merge quaint original features, such as exposed beams, floorboards, and charming attic windows with a sleek, modern aesthetic. Warm and rustic furnishings like the wooden dining bench bring yet another vintage edge, one of our favourite pieces being the rusty, red velvet sofa. And in the bedroom, the wicker bed frame looks beautifully natural against the pristine white walls and sleek wardrobes. After a peaceful slumber, your host generously provides granola for breakfast, so you can start the day with a wholesome bowl as you plan the day ahead. Head four minutes north to walk along the serene Regent’s Canal, or maybe even hitch a ride on a barge. On your way back, take a detour through Angel’s streets full of high-end restaurants, cute boutiques, and English pubs. Anyone for a pint?

House of Clay

This home is bright and charming, with its minimalist styling warmed by your host’s lovely artistic sensibilities – his own beautiful photographs and personal art collection decorate the walls, along with a set of treasures collected from his journeys travelling the world. We especially love the large sunny balcony and its comfortable patio set – ideal for newspaper and coffee mornings or pre-dinner drinks. There’s also a sleek well-equipped kitchen, so stream your playlist on the speakers while you chop up some vegetables and then set the glass living room table for dinner. If you’d rather eat out, you’re in the heart of Islington with plenty of varied and delicious dining options all around you. You’ll find a more local, lived-in neighbourhood here, but the nearby Northern line connects you to the hub of the city easily. Spend mornings wandering along the Regent’s Canal, an eight-minute walk away, and evenings exploring the nearby pubs and bars. 

Mandalay

Only ten minutes from Kings Cross, The Angel is old London at its finest. On the top floor of this traditional row, only minutes away from the thrum of Chapel Market and the shopping centre, you’ll find this charming little pad an excellent place.
