Welcome to Detroit, a city known for its old soulful records and classic automotive industry that's emerging as a trendy hotspot for today's cool, hipster crowd. You’ll find this apartment in the heart of Downtown, a fifteen-minute walk from the riverfront and less than a ten-minute stroll from Greektown, with its bustling bars, fantastic restaurants and authentic speakeasies. Location-wise, you're perfectly positioned for taking in the best of Motor City, although it's the home's interior design that really caught our eye. From the boldly patterned decor to the retro wallpaper prints and stylish furnishings, the apartment harks back to the early Sixties – a time when Motown was rocking and classic cars were cruising on by lively Downtown Detroit. Natural light pours into the living space, thanks to the large windows looking out over the city. Knock up a few lite bites in the handy kitchenette or pop downstairs to the in-building 7-Eleven and stock up on a couple of late-night snacks. Later, if you can just about resist a sneaky cat nap in the luxury bedding, head out and catch a show at Saint Andrews Hall, a four-minute walk from your door. 

Swinging Sixties

If you're looking to discover the best of this rapidly evolving city, full of character and charisma, then this is it. Nestled in the heart of Downtown Detroit, this historic building puts you right in the heart of the action. At one time, the city was the centre of the US automotive industry. And while those days are long gone, this apartment recaptures a bit of that mid-century magic with stylish furnishings and retro artwork adorning the walls, illuminated with plenty of natural light thanks to the large windows. Down at street level, you'll find a 7-Eleven for those all-important late-night snacks to accompany your movie of choice. Of course, you're also just outside Greektown, with its authentic eateries, electric nightlife and post-work happy hours just a stone's throw away from your front door. Despite its automotive heritage, Downtown's public transport makes exploring easy. Journey twenty minutes to the Eastern Market, or the Detroit Institute of Arts, while the Motown Museum is a little under forty minutes away.


Motor City Steel

From soulful old music joints to a flourishing contemporary art and design scene, Detroit is gritty, creative and exciting. You’ll find this apartment in the heart of Downtown, a ten-minute walk from Comerica Park, seven minutes from the art deco Guardian Building, and twenty from the Detroit riverfront – our favourite place to stop with a bite to eat when the weather is fair. After a day spent exploring the speakeasies and boutiques along Woodward Avenue, arrive at your pad for a relaxed afternoon. The interior design is stylish yet functional. Recline on the sofa in the light-filled living space or set the glass dining table ready for a tasty supper whipped up in the kitchenette. If you can just about resist a cat nap in the hotel-quality beds, there’s a well-equipped, communal fitness room in the building to get your endorphins flowing.

Strings Of Life

If you're staying in Minneapolis, it doesn't get much more central than the Downtown East neighbourhood. This contemporary building rises above the street, offering a short walk to the US Bank Stadium and access to miles of Skyway. Visit the iconic Stone Arch bridge and the ruins of old flour mills along the river, or walk to the nearby Guthrie Theatre. Inside, it's an unfussy, modern apartment with big windows, comfy furniture and all the equipment you could need for an easy stay. The building comes with some excellent communal amenities too – there's a guest lounge, a year-round rooftop spa and a Skyline viewing deck. Surrounded by great bars and eateries, you're right in the thick of things.

Better Together

Right around the corner from the eateries, cafes, bars and boutiques on bustling Woodward Avenue is where you'll find this trendy apartment. It's close to all the sights downtown – including the Guardian Building, the Detroit River and Campus Martius Park – so you'll be well-placed for exploring Motor City. Or, if you want to explore a little further, Michigan Avenue Station is just a two-minute stroll away. Following a long day in the hustle and bustle, come back to this cosy apartment and make yourself right at home. Sprawl out on the sofa as you stream a show on the Chromecast, rustle up a meal in the well-appointed kitchen or do a spot of work at the dining table. A small communal fitness room ensures fitness buffs will never miss a workout, and with a cosy bed, big windows showing off the city views, air conditioning and in-unit laundry, you'll have everything you need for a comfortable and relaxing stay.

Motown Groove

Start your engines, and drive back into a bygone era of soulful old music bars, low-key speakeasies and classic cars at this accessible apartment in Downtown Detroit. While the convenient location sets you up perfectly for all there is to eat, drink and do nearby, we especially love how the apartment recaptures some of the early sixties magic of Motor City with its retro-styled interiors and bold wallpaper prints. Mixing mid-century decor with elegant furniture, marble tabletops and hotel-quality bedding, the home will have you relaxing in style from the get-go. Watch over the city through the large windows, as you enjoy a home-cooked meal in the light-filled dining area. Better still, head downstairs to the handy 7-Eleven and stock up on a few naughty treats to devour in bed. Spend your days exploring lively Greektown, an eight-minute walk away, or head to the Detroit riverfront – our favourite place to stop with a bite to eat – around eleven minutes from home. 

Joy Ride

Once an early 20th-century furniture store, this historic apartment building boasts neoclassical architecture and fabulous city views – not to mention a fantastic location in the heart of downtown Detroit. It's where you'll find this trendy studio apartment, which has everything you'll need for a stay in the city. Although pocket-sized, we think the layout makes the most of the space. Plus, it doesn't compromise on essentials – there's a fully-equipped kitchen for when you fancy cooking as well as in-unit laundry facilities. There's even a communal fitness room on-site, so you'll never have to miss a workout. But the best part of all is the location. Both the iconic Guardian Building and Campus Martius Park are a seven-minute walk away, while the riverfront is fifteen minutes on foot. The wide array of restaurants, cafes, bars and boutiques on Woodward Avenue are right around the corner, too – but if you want to explore further afield, Michigan Avenue Station is just two minutes away.

Motown Magic

You're not likely to miss this striking contemporary building. Shades of blue and purple clad the outside, while its balconies jut out at angles. In the beating heart of the vibrant Riverside neighbourhood, this place is surrounded by the arts – with dozens of music venues within easy reach. And inside you're likely to find something new to look at out of each of its many picture windows. All-white interiors and comfortable, minimalist furnishings sum up this place – and it's readily equipped to make your stay as easy as pie. Sit out on your private balcony with a drink, or head to the communal lounge to meet new friends. There's even a fitness room so there are no excuses when it comes to your routine. A short walk from the river, you can explore Riverside Park or cross to the East River Flats Park. You're surrounded by great places to eat and drink, and it's just a five-minute drive from Downtown Minneapolis.

Curious Blue

Surrounded by Uptown Minneapolis’ restaurants, parks, and boutiques and with stunning lakes just a stone’s throw away, this modern apartment puts you in an ideal position to experience the city’s urban and natural wonders. Inside, wood floors, contemporary furnishings and floor-to-ceiling windows create an impressive welcome with a cool blue palette making the space feel like a calming retreat above the hustle and bustle of the streets below. The master bedroom is all set to give you a dreamy night’s sleep with its carefully curated decor and comfortable bed, while its private balcony is the ideal spot to enjoy your morning coffee as the city wakes up. If you need to catch up on work, there’s a handy desk space in your home to do so, while the twenty-four-hour fitness centre is ready to help you work up a sweat. There's also a shop on the building's ground floor should you need any extras during your stay. Outside of your home, Lake of the Isles and Bde Maka Ska are both a twelve-minute walk away where boating,  bike and walking trails await and Cedar Lake South Beach beckons a thirty-minute stroll from your door. After a day of exploring, come back home and make your way up to the communal rooftop terrace where a hot tub, fire pit lounge and glimmering city views wait to end your night on a magical note. 

Life On The Lakes

This smart home is sophisticated yet comfortable, making it a great spot to stay during a trip to Minneapolis. With trendy prints on the walls, a collection of arty coffee table books and some stylish furniture, you can kick off your shoes and truly relax between adventures in the city. The well-equipped kitchen is a great place to cook your favourite dishes in perfect peace, before serving your creations at the dining table. The building's shared amenities are an added bonus, with a fitness room where you can work up a sweat, along with a rooftop where you can look out across the city, craft beer in hand. The surrounding Riverside neighbourhood is named for its proximity to the Mississippi River, where you'll find plenty of walking trails to enjoy on sunny afternoons. The local university gives the area a youthful, arty vibe, and there is a range of bars and restaurants catering to every taste imaginable. And, if you want to head to the Downtown district, then it's just a five-minute car ride away. 

Moon Sign

A blend of industrial chic and elegant sophistication, this bright studio apartment in Uptown Minneapolis is an ideal base for a couple or solo traveller looking for the best of the city’s culture and nature. A beautifully dressed bed takes centre stage in the main room, backed by tall windows that allow plenty of sunshine to stream in. We love the characterful details that have been thoughtfully curated to create a laid-back, stylish vibe like the vases filled with pampas grass and the abstract art decking the grey-blue feature wall. Those looking for an active start to the day can head to the on-site fitness centre before a day of exploring, while evenings call for barbecues on the shared grills and starlight soaks in the communal rooftop’s hot tub. With a store on the ground floor too, you’re all set if you need to pick up supplies, while all around you restaurants, bars and independent boutiques wait to be discovered. You’re also just a twelve-minute walk from both Lake of the Isles and Bde Maka Ska for boating, cycling and walking trails, while Cedar Lake South Beach is a thirty-minute stroll from your door.


Pampas & Pearl

We love this home's Downtown East location – it's full of history with its former industrial buildings, harking back to when the city was known for flour milling. In fact, you can admire these atmospheric buildings at Mill Ruins Park, which is under a ten-minute walk away. It's the same walking distance to the historic Stone Arch Bridge where you can take some snaps of the city and Saint Anthony Falls – the views are fantastic. Downtown is a twenty-five-minute wander or a six-minute ride away, though there are plenty of bars and restaurants right on your doorstep, too – Washington Avenue is a two-minute stroll. Theatre lovers will be glad to know that the Guthrie Theater is just a three-minute saunter, while you're just a block away from the US Bank Stadium. After all that activity, head back to your stylish home and have a beer on the balcony or relax by the pool. If you're still feeling energetic, there's a gym or unwind in the communal lounge and games room. For dinner, cook up a feast on the barbecue with some produce from the grocery store right downstairs. Inside the apartment itself, we love the modern art prints. This place is perfect for a group of friends, family or work colleagues to enjoy while exploring Mill City.
