Set overlooking one of Haussmann's grandest boulevards, with sweeping views stretching from the Eiffel Tower to the Seine – it's easy to see what caught our eye about this 17th arrondissement bolthole. Dating back to the 19th century, the period apartment has its quirks. Expect a narrow staircase to reach the bedrooms, and you'll only be able to access the bathroom through the main bedroom. However, there is a separate cloakroom, too. Location-wise, the Metro is just a five-minute walk away. But if time is on your side, hit the streets on foot. Champs Elysées and the other blockbuster sights are within walking distance.

    While the second bedroom isn’t photographed, we expect the style and quality to be consistent with the rest of the home. This bedroom has sloped ceilings – vertically blessed, beware.

    It’s worth noting that although there is a separate WC, the bathroom can only be accessed through the main bedroom. This bedroom is reached by a narrow flight of stairs, which may be unsuitable for guests with restricted mobility.

Your neighbours will mainly be wealthy families but you will also come across quite a few workers going to the office too.
