Is sightseeing at the top of your Rome to-do list? This fuss-free apartment in Monti is the perfect spot for it. Not only are you a stone's throw from the Colosseum, but Termini Station and the Roman Forum are also within walking distance. With the click-clack style sofa bed in use, space can be a little tight. But we like how sliding glass doors cleverly separate the main bedroom from the living area, while the additional WC eases stress in the mornings. The kitchenette is also compact, but as you're in one of the world's most famous foodie destinations, we doubt you'll do much cooking.

Home truths

Two guests will sleep on the sofa bed in the living area. It's on the smaller side, so we think it's better suited for children or friends sharing on a quick trip.

If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a free cot on request.

The wi-fi isn't the strongest, and there's no desk space. We wouldn't suggest this as a base to work from home.

The bathroom has a small shower and the glass door doesn't offer much privacy.

As this is near a semi-busy road in the centre of Rome, noise is likely.

About Monti

It's a truth universally acknowledged that in every city, there is a district just waiting to be described as expressing the spirit of the old Soho. In Rome, Monti is that place, and the connection is a fair one - although what Monti lacks in advertising agencies and mustachioed tech bros, it makes up for in creative enclaves, smoky bars and delicious places to eat. Nestled right in the heart...

Host

This home is managed by Gianluca

This home is managed directly by a business. A member of their staff will be your point of contact before and during your stay. As soon as we met him, we could tell that Gianluca was a bit of a perfectionist. He stays in contact with many of his former guests, and we were particularly touched by all their messages displayed in the apartment’s window.

This home is nominated for the Plum Guide Award.

  • Great hosts, not just great homes – We reject homes managed by hosts who don’t meet our standards of excellence.
