It’s not just the uninterrupted sea view that drew us to this villa on Puglia’s Ionian coast – the lagoon-shaped pool and private spa with its Turkish bath certainly helped. Views of the azure Ionian Sea are certainly one of the highlights though, from shaded outdoor terraces, lawn chairs and from the big window by the dining table. Glass sliding doors open up the kitchen to the terrace, so shuttling salads outside for an evening’s barbecue is easy. Inside, the group can spread out between a main lounge and a second seating area by the kitchen, and those working remotely can hide away in the dedicated office room. For days out, the historic city of Taranto is a short drive up the coast and Canne Beach is a short walk.

This villa is split over two levels, so it may not suit those with limited mobility.
Small, well-behaved dogs are welcome to join you. Just let your host know in advance if you're bringing a four-legged friend.

In a fairly remote location, having a car is recommended. There is plenty of private parking within the grounds.
