This is a family home with a capital F. The exterior is a typical Georgian mansion, but the inside is modern, colourful, and incredibly welcoming. We particularly enjoyed the ultra-modern stainless steel kitchen, which lends itself perfectly to fixing family feasts to enjoy at the dining table under the glass ceiling. The garden is also a huge plus, with lots of cosy nooks for relaxing and spending time with your loved ones. This can’t be considered central London, but this leafy Islington borough is an absolute delight. A rarity for the city, it manages to strike the perfect balance of new and exciting offerings, offset by yesteryear charm – for every biodynamic wine bar serving small plates, an old London boozer is pulling pints of authentic ales with a side of peanuts. If you want to get out and explore, you're around a ten-minute walk from the green spaces of Highbury Fields. From there, it's just a few minutes to the award-winning butcher, fishmonger and fromagerie in Highbury Park, where you can stock up for dinner. If you fancy heading to Central, the Victoria Line can have you on Oxford Street in fifteen minutes, while the Overground provides links to the neighbouring areas of Dalston, Hackney and Shoreditch.

Local guide
About Canonbury
Canonbury is one of the most friendly and unpretentious pockets of Islington, packed full of gorgeous period houses, independent cafes and antique shops. Extremely well connected transport-wise by the Victoria Line from Highbury and Islington station, it works well as a base to explore both Central London and more villagey areas like Stoke Newington further to the East. You'll be rubbing shoulders with trendy media types and affluent young families and working out how to move here long-term yourself.
