Do you have a question about this home or the local area?

As soon as you step through the front door of this three-storey house, it’s clear that the owner has invested love and care into making it feel like home. On a quiet street (it really is peaceful for London) in Shepherd’s Bush, it’s just a stone’s throw from the Westfield shopping centre (5 mins) and within easy walking distance of the tube (2 mins), for trains to central. The overall feel is traditional, with wooden floorboards, lots of books and classical furniture. The exception to this is the ultra-modern kitchen, with its high gloss units and skylights, from which bi-fold doors open out completely to a pretty courtyard garden. With its multi-floor layout, it would work well for a group of friends or a family with older children (there’s a twin room and a separate TV area so they can have their own space). Our favourite spot has to be the roof terrace, for morning coffees or evening drinks, before a wander into Shepherd’s Bush for a relaxed pub dinner followed by some live music.

Home truths

Although there is a twin room, this home may not be ideal for guests with young children as there are a lot of stairs

Equally, older guests may prefer a home set across fewer levels

The owner's housekeeper visits the property every Wednesday to tend to the garden and collect post for the owners – please let the host know in advance if this will be a problem

The table in the dining area can be extended to accommodate 10 – 12 guests

This property is fitted with a noise detection device – your host politely asks guests to keep the noise down to respect other neighbours in the building

The kitchen would benefit from a new set of knives

The shower pressure here isn't the strongest

The sofa is not the most comfortable to sleep on
