This old cart shed nestled along a quiet rural lane in Monmouthshire may belong to the 17th century, but there's nothing dated about the cool, lime-plaster walls and stylish interiors. While the ancient stone exterior and high wooden beams remain, everywhere else is bright and contemporary, with pops of sunny yellows adding refreshing bursts of modernity. Well-suited for families, kids will love the bunk beds, and there's plenty of space to spill out in the living area with a modular sofa ready and waiting for cosy film nights. Over in the kitchen, you'll find a welcome hamper stuffed full of goodies to help settle you in. But if you'd rather skip the cooking part, you can always nip into nearby Abergavenny (a sixteen-minute drive) or Monmouth (a twenty-minute drive). Both market towns deliver the traditional Welsh inns and tea rooms you're chasing. When it's time to embrace the great outdoors, you're in the middle of some truly excellent rambling routes like Three Castles Walk and the Offa's Dyke Path, and history buffs will relish a day out to local castles and structures even older than your home. And the surrounding area is a mountain bikers paradise with Bike Park Wales and Black Mountain nearby. After spending the day tramping through the wilderness or touring tea rooms, bundle up in the home's courtyard for an evening of stargazing. With the chiminea all aglow and the garden festoon lights twinkling, it's a magical place to spend an evening.
