Walking into this home is like taking a step back in time, with wooden panelled walls, heritage quilts lying across cosy corner beds and an imposing, traditional brick chimney. Despite the classic decor, this home resists resting on the laurels of nostalgia, with contemporary touches like the state-of-the-art kitchen and high ceilings making it a thoroughly modern getaway. Our favourite part though, has to be the floor-to-ceiling glass walls in the living space – settle down with a crackling fire and mug of hot chocolate and gaze out into the Hamptons woodlands. The home is right across from a bird sanctuary, so bring your binoculars and you might even spot one of the magnificent birds of prey that swoop through the coastal forests.
