There’s something about bright blue skies which never fails to lift your spirits. Which is why we think one look at this home will have you jumping for joy. As vivid as the great expanse above you – with a pastel blue door to match – this home is in the heart of pretty Padstow, Cornwall’s centre of cool, contemporary chic. And once inside you’ll find the owners have taken their design cues from the home's stylish surroundings. An elegant, traditional black, terracotta and sand-coloured tiled floor leads into the open-plan living space with calming white walls, warm wooden floors and black leather accents (the sofa and high-backed dining chairs) adding a touch of drama. There’s a log-burner and huge stack of logs to keep things cosy in the colder months, and a charming wooden summer house in the garden to enjoy the sunshine in the summer. The garden brings the beach to you, with a shingle carpet and (of course) blue picnic table – and if that’s not enough, from here you can enjoy gorgeous views down to the sea.
