Sandwiched between two national parks and stretching out to the Gulf of Roses, the area of Empuriabrava is a unique former swampland that has been turned into 40km of waterways and whitewashed villas. This home is in the heart of the development, its verdant green lawn and deep infinity pool looking out over a canal. If you've got a boat, there's space to moor it. Failing that, we suggest pulling up a chair, either right on the canal or the upstairs balcony, and watching the world float past. With a lived-in vibe and some unique design choices, this home is one-of-a-kind from the pink mosaic tiles of the bathroom to the bright orange bedrooms – kids will love it. There's also plenty of space to entertain the whole gang, with two kitchens, a study, a games room complete with consoles, and an open-plan living area. Come sunset, there's only one place to be, and that's on the top floor watching the last rays set over the terracotta rooftops.
