They say the best things come in small packages, and this one-up-one-down clapboard cottage is no exception. Perfectly pint-sized, it’s just right for a couple looking for a beachy mini-break. A nautical theme dominates, with porthole mirrors and blue-and-white striped furnishings. There’s a cosy mezzanine bed, kitchenette and petite seating area complete with TV. And if that wasn’t sweet enough, there’s a small patio with estuary views. Sit outside to watch boats pootle by, best accompanied with scones brimming with lashings of cream and dollops of jam. In the late afternoon, wander down to Shaldon beach – it’s mere minutes from your front door. Take a picnic or continue on into Shaldon town centre if you’re feeling peckish, there are plenty of cafes, tearooms, restaurants and, of course, fish and chip shops for you to choose from.
