High in the Silver Lake hills, on one of those iconic, winding, steep roads that LA does so well, this modern home is a perfect choice if you want a room with a view. Comfortable and stylish, it's got a great location and everything you could need to feel right at home. An open-plan layout makes the living space sociable, while the huge picture windows offer views at every turn. Snuggle up on the leather sofa in front of the fireplace, or sit out on one of the terraces – you've got three to choose from (as the name suggests) and from here you can barbecue with views over the city and the San Gabriel mountains. Bedrooms are cosy and well-styled, with plenty of industrial and salvaged design details – plus the all-important comfy beds. Here you'll be just a ten-minute drive from Hollywood, with Koreatown, Downtown LA and more within easy reach. And after a day exploring the nearby attractions, enjoy a long soak in the outdoor hot tub.

Home truths
There's a self-contained studio on the lower ground floor that the owner may use from time to time, but you'll have complete privacy
The hot tub is cleaned regularly, but if there have been strong winds you may find debris blown under the cover
There is a strict no party policy and the host asks that you keep noise to a minimum after 11pm
There's space for only two cars and it's a little tight
Dogs are allowed if the host gives prior approval (no cats please)
It might be more comfortable for seven guests as one of the beds is a bit small for two people sharing
