As far as locations go, this apartment in exciting Navy Yard is pretty much perfect. Only a thirty-minute walk from The Capitol Building, you won't be far from Washington DC's must-see landmarks – especially if you take the metro from Navy Yard-Ballpark or Eastern Market. Yet this lively neighbourhood has plenty of charm on offer, too. Home to Michelin-starred eateries, waterfront parks, laid-back bars and trendy shops, Barracks Row is ripe with things to do for a night on the town. You'll find this apartment just a quick stroll from everything, situated in a pretty 1930s building. Step through the iron gate and into the ivy-covered courtyard before heading to your garden-level flat. Inside, it's sleek and modern, but the funky pillows and old-school art keep things interesting. Spend evenings sharing homecooked meals around the dining table, then cuddle up on the cosy sofa for a film night – the Chromecast has all your favourite streaming options. If you run out of anything, the shared essentials cupboard in the hallway is well-stocked with all the basics – a lovely touch that ensures you're in good hands.
