Dating back to the 18th century, this cottage in Blockley has a lot of history behind it. Step through the front door, and you'll find plenty of charming original features, from the Cotswold stone walls to the wooden ceiling beams. The wood-burner is perfect for keeping cosy during the cooler months, and you'll love gathering around the inglenook fireplace to read, chat or even have a little singsong – there's a guitar awaiting musical visitors. The kitchen is perfect for cooking up everything from a quick breakfast to a lavish Sunday lunch, and when the weather is warmer you can head outside to fire up the barbecue. The enclosed garden is a wonderful spot to relax in the fresh air, complete with a seating area, a grassy lawn and even a buddha sculpture for some added serenity. Blockley is larger than some of the other Cotswold villages, but its streets are still full of honey-coloured stone and rustic charm. It has its own local shop, along with a couple of pubs and a café, and it's easy to hit the hiking trails through the North Cotswolds from here. Plus, with Moreton-in-Marsh, Stow-on-the-Wold and Chipping Camden just a short drive away, you won't easily run out of things to do.
