Outdoor adventures await at this apartment in the heart of the Finnish lakes. You’re in Vuokatti, where activity centres offer zip-lining through the trees, boating on the lakes and skiing down the hillsides. In summer it’s all about lazy days by the lakeside, fishing or hiking through the forest trails, while in winter, when the evergreens are heavy with snow, the cross-country trails and downhill slopes for skiers open up. There’s a supply shop a short walk from your apartment and an onsite restaurant too. The apartment itself is a haven of modernity inside, with white-wash brick walls and pendant lamps keeping things stylish. A wood-burning stove sits at the heart of the living room where plush velvet armchairs await to put your feet up after a long hike. There’s a little deck overlooking the towering pine trees and lakeside and, true to most Finnish homes, a private sauna for a post-ski session in the bathroom.
