Smack dab in the heart of Truro, you'll find this charming apartment in a Grade II-listed building on an equally characterful street. Sprawl out on the squishy velvet sofa, an engrossing book or a glass of Cornish ale in hand, before rustling up a delicious dinner in the contemporary kitchen – we suggest making a fish pie using fresh-caught seafood and ingredients from the local market. A huge Georgian window takes centre stage in the living room – not only does it bathe the space with sunlight on bright afternoons, but the outlook onto the traditional townhomes is straight out of a movie. We also adore the eclectic stylings – there are nods to the famous William Lemon everywhere you look, be it printed citrus wallpaper in the hallway or old-school portraits hanging in glitzy golden frames. As Cornwall's only city, Truro has everything you'd expect – fantastic dining, excellent shopping and plenty of entertainment – and it's all within walking distance. Here, independent shops, local art galleries and historical homes line cobbled Georgian lanes and the three towering spires of the cathedral loom overhead. While it isn't by the seaside – the nearest beach is Perranporth Beach, a twenty-minute... drive away – this area has plenty of riverside paths and small villages well-worth exploring.
