Staying on the Glen Dye estate is an immersive experience – the kind that awakens the senses and lifts the spirit. And perched on the banks of the River Dye, this beautiful Georgian house opens its doors and welcomes you into the heart of nature. Originally belonging to the caretakers who tended Glen Dye Lodge, this semi–detached home is steeped in tradition but with exceptional styling and luxurious details that add warmth. And like the magical woodland that surrounds this space, the vibe is calm and relaxing. No doubt you’ll be inspired to savour the little details that make this home truly unique. Like waking up to views across the trees and reading by the fire. Outside, wander along the private footpath to the River Cabin where you can spend the day wild swimming and cooking – there’s a wood–burning stove and a Big Green Egg (described as the best barbecue in the world). You can also walk for miles through the wilderness and visit the resident BYOB pub. Spend an evening soaking in the wood-fired hot tub surrounded by magnificent trees. We won’t be surprised if it feels like you’ve found heaven on earth.

About Angus

Ancient fishing villages and craggy mountains mark the borders of the pretty county of Angus. It spans from the East Coast to the Cairngorms National Park. Foodies shouldn’t miss supping on a traditional Arbroath smokie in the town it was named after – picked up from the fish shops on the harbourfront. In Arbroath you’ll also find an ancient, crumbling abbey and access to clifftop walks where the North Sea...

Host

This home is managed by Audrey

This home is managed directly by its owner who will be your point of contact before and during your stay. Back in 1990, your hosts Charlie and Caroline left their jobs in music and design and moved from South London to Glen Dye. This was a no-brainer as they'd always dreamed of living their lives in the countryside surrounded by children, dogs, chickens and horses. So after twenty years of scheming, dreaming and planning, the pair launched Glen Dye Cabins & Cottages, where they now invite guests to come and soak up the magic of Glen Dye at the many renovated properties on their estate..

This home is nominated for the Plum Guide Award.
