If you followed the River Tiber for 30km outside of Rome, you’d reach the seaside resort town of Fiumicino. This swish little apartment sits in the centre of Fiumicino, a ten-minute stroll from the beachfront, which is lined with seafood restaurants and bars for sunset cocktails. A two-minute walk takes you to the banks of the canal, lined with fairy-lit restaurants for an evening out. Should you want to explore the Colosseum, Sistine Chapel and Spanish Steps, the centre of Rome is just a half-hour drive or twenty minutes by fast train. The apartment is decked out in seaside tones, the white and blue of waves a reminder of the seafront nearby. The kitchen, living room and dining area are all open plan and sunny, courtesy of big windows that look out over the rooftops of Fiumicino. There’s a slender little balcony too, with a bistro set, for a breath of fresh sea air.
